Special Election Rules Adopted

Rule 2021-03 2021 Executive Trustee Special Election Rules

The FPIF Board of Trustees adopted the 2021 Executive Trustee Special Election Rules at its meeting on May 28, 2021.

The Special Election will fill the vacancies created by Patrick Nichting’s and Jeff Rowitz’s retirements.

Under statute, eligible candidates for the Executive Trustee positions include mayors, presidents, chief executive officers, chief financial officers, or other officers, executives, or department heads of municipalities or fire protection districts that have Article 4 pension funds. Executive Trustees are elected by the mayors and presidents of municipalities or fire protection districts that have Article 4 pension funds.

Petition circulation will begin on June 11, 2021 and petitions must be returned to FPIF no later than July 23, 2021. Ballots will be mailed to eligible voters on August 20, 2021. Ballots must be received by FPIF’s election vendor no later than September 24, 2021. The Election Panel will certify the election results on or before October 1, 2021.

Candidate applications will be made available on the FPIF website beginning June 10, 2021.
