Karl Langhammer

Executive Trustee

Karl Langhammer has served as an Executive Trustee on the FPIF Board of Trustees since August 2025 and is a current member of the Investments & Operations Committee.

He has been a Trustee for the Carol Stream Fire Protection District Board since 2011 and has served as Treasurer of both the Board and the Firefighters’ Pension Fund since 2015. In his role as Treasurer, Karl has consistently delivered balanced budgets and maintained a strong commitment to fully funding the firefighter pension in accordance with actuarial guidelines. Under his financial stewardship, the Carol Stream FPD Pension Fund’s assets have grown from $35 million to $63 million.

Karl began his service with the Carol Stream Fire Protection District in 2001 as a paid-on-call firefighter, a position he held for seven years. He and his wife, Suzanne, have lived in Carol Stream for over 35 years. They are proud parents of two adult children and grandparents to three grandchildren. Karl is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
